Ten Reasons to Appreciate the “Two Structures of God’s Redemptive Mission” Theory (9th of 10)

Dear readers, join me in praying the Great Commission promises in the Bible.

All churches among unreached peoples were started by missionaries, if you look back into history. Missionaries crossed the Rhine River to preach to the Germanic peoples; Irish missionaries established churches in France and as far eastward as Kiev. In recent years missionaries have established the first churches among the Kurds in northern Iraq.

Dear readers, join me in praying the promises in the Bible:

God, deliver the Afar people of Sudan from the kingdom of darkness, according to your word: “All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall worship before you. For kingship belongs to the Lord, and he rules over all the nations” (Psalm 22:27-28).

God, remember your promise in Psalm 102:15 for the Sylheti people of Bangladesh: “The nations will fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth will tremble before your glory.”

God, send missionaries to the Alawite people of Syria, as it is written in Psalm 105:1 “O give thanks to the Lord, call on his name. Make known his deeds among the peoples.”

God, send missionaries to the Shia people of Baghdad, according to your promise in Psalm 108:3-4: “I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples, and I will sing praises to you among the nations. For your steadfast love is higher than the heavens, and your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.”

God, we lift up to you the 200,000 Qizilbash Muslims of Afghanistan, remembering what your word says i Psalm 113:3, “From the rising of the sun to the place it sets the name of the Lord shall be praised.

God, we pray for the 700,000 Noorbasha Muslims of India, remembering what your word says in Psalm 117, “Praise the Lord, all you nations; glorify him all you peoples. For great is his love toward us, and his faithfulness endures forever. Praise the Lord.

“God, do for the Muslims on the island of Sulawesi what you said would happen in Isaiah chapter 60 verse 3, “The Gentiles shall come to thy light, And kings to the brightness of thy rising.”

“God, do among the Somali people in the city of Hergeisa what you said would happen in Hosea 2:23, And I will have pity on Not pitied, and I will say to Not my people, ‘You are my people’; and they shall say, ‘Thou art my God.’”

There are about 4000 Muslim people groups in the world. Click here to go to the Joshua Project data base.

Dear reader, there are a hundred Old Testament references to the Great Commission and a hundred more in the New Testament. Missionaries go to “the regions beyond” (2 Corinthians 10:16) where there are no churches. With God’s help missionaries will establish what the Bible calls “churches of the nations” or Gentiles (Romans 16:3-4). When you read the Bible, may God show you his Great Commission promises. When God shows you his promises for the nations, stop and pray for missionaries to go and preach to them the good news of Jesus Christ our Lord.
